This week, we unveiled Chief AI at SXSW – and it was nothing short of incredible. We presented to elected leaders from across the country, all deeply committed to making government more productive and effective.

Our presentation was part of Civic I/O, an initiative of the United States Conference of Mayors that gives a select group of startups the opportunity to pitch directly to mayors. It was an honor to share what we’re building – and even more valuable to hear firsthand how mayors see AI shaping the future of government.
Key Takeaways
Leaders need a system of record. There is no existing solution designed to manage the office of an executive. Mayors juggle hundreds of requests, constituent interactions, and manually prepared briefings – yet they lack a centralized way to track it all. Chief AI is designed to be their new command center, securely storing meetings, events, briefings, and relationship data in one place.
Local government is often under-resourced. Not every mayor has a full team – or enough staff – to keep up with the demands of leadership. Many are stretched thin, balancing policy work, constituent engagement, and administrative duties. Chief AI helps mayors create leverage, streamlining operations so they can focus on what truly matters: serving their communities.
AI adoption requires purpose-built solutions. Mayors are eager to explore AI, but they want to ensure they use it responsibly. They need tools built with government-specific security, data retention, and public records requirements. Chief AI isn’t just another AI tool – we’re a trusted partner, helping leaders adopt AI in a way that aligns with their mission and safeguards public trust.
What’s Next
SXSW was just the beginning. We’re doubling down on our work with government leaders, refining our product, and ensuring Chief AI delivers real, measurable impact for communities.
Thank you to the United States Conference of Mayors for organizing Civic I/O and championing innovation in government. And to the mayors who spent time with us – your feedback was invaluable.
